Costs and Funding

Please Note: As Northstar Talent and Skills are not currently an approved apprenticeship training provider for the Level 2 Fishmonger Standard we cannot use the £13,000 of funding available for each apprentice.

The £13,000 of funding is available to support the training and assessment of apprentices. The split between the apprenticeship training provider (ATP) and End Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO) is 80:20.

The £10,400 of funding received by the ATP is used to pay for all aspects of the training; the trainer(s), their travel, resources, any external course costs, apprentices attending group sessions etc. The employer pays for the apprentice and the fish and shellfish used onsite for training purposes.

ATPs need to make a surplus to cover other costs to the business, as well as a reasonable profit to ensure business viability.

If you are already using an approved ATP you may want to ask for a breakdown of how the £10,800 is being used.

At Northstar Talent when we put together a training delivery package for you we will cost it on the following basis:

Trainer delivery: This will be charged by the hour, 1/2 day or full day

Trainer travel time**: Not always applicable as some support can be delivered remotely

Mileage**: Not always applicable

Accommodation**: Not always applicable

Resources: At cost

External course costs: At cost

** When we are able to apportion these costs amongst other employers/trainees, we will do so fairly.

Some of our fishmonger programmes are Seafish subsidised or fully funded by Seafish. Where this is the case we will ensure you fully benefit from this support.
